Holey Moley, I do believe I am setting some kind of record here. I am not OCD but I am trying to post frequently. It helps when you are a writer because writing is a solitary endeavor. . Blogging is like a cyber keep in touch. even though it is one sided.
Today I was doing some research on old cars. One of my characters drives and Edsel. Well, you know how research can go...one click leads to another and on the way you are bound to learn something.
Did you know that The Pope Manufacturing Company made the first electric car...in 1897. Eventually the lead-acid batteries were high maintenance.
The Stanley Steamer was built in 1897. The draw back. Someone had to keep a close eye on the fire and water level while driving. Wealthy drivers didn't want to do that so they hired someone, ergo the chauffeur, which means fire stoker in French.
So here we are in the 21st Century and 'electric cars' are trying to make comeback. Will they catch on again.
Kinda proves the old saying that everything old is new again...or is it.
