Words of Wisdom

February 6,2009

Reading is one of my great pleasures. Honestly, I read everything. Soooo, the other day I was making a cup of Celestial Seasonings Country Peach Passion when I happened to look at the back of the box. I thought hmmm, how appropriate. Especially in these times that try our souls.

The piece is attributed to William Henry Channing and I would like to share.

"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to the stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear on cheerfully, do all bravely, awaiting occasions, worry never; in a word to, like the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common."

That was good advice from a tea box. Who knows what I am going to find on the coffee can. Guess I'll have to find one and read the label.
