Christmas is getting closer and I still haven't run screaming into the night from the continuous loop of Christmas music on one of my favorite stations. One reason II haven't run screaming into the night. is that I alternate by listening to my favorite country station and going to lunches/parties/theater or whatever event presents.
Missed the meet and greet at The Copperfish, a wonderful bookstore in Punta Gorda last night. No use trying to meet and greet when you go into a coughing spasm every time you try to to say a complete sentence. What a bummer.
However, today I did attend the George Allen Media Round table in Sarasota. All I had to do was listen. It is wonderful to listen to these people speak. There is a wealth of knowledge there. You learn the entire history of media including early radio, television and newspapers as well as authors who attend.
I try not to miss any of these luncheons, which are by invitation only, because it is fascinating to sit back and listen. You can raise your hand and ask questions. Unfortunately I never think of a question until I'm on my way home.
Oh well, maybe nest time..
