Getting back on track

It has been ages since I have posted. I've been back from vacation for almost three weeks and still trying to catch up, but the trip was worth the "catch up". Did over 3500 miles, visited friends and family and got lots of tidbits to put in books. After all we are a product of our experiences. One experience was attending the D-Day memorial services in Bedford, VA. That it was a moving experience is an understatement. There were very few dry eyes in the house (it was held indoors because of the pouring rain) when the surviving veterans formed a receiving line. God bless them.

The last exciting event was a whale watch trip. Could not believe that I won the hump back whale, Sacula. I didn't get to bring him home but I did get "adoption" papers and his picture. He is spending his summer in the Gulf of Maine. What a thrill to see him up close.

Now it is back to everyday life, which isn't all that bad. I'll click the heels of my ruby slippers and quote Dorothy, "There's no place like home."
