'Gator Land
Hi out there in Blogsville. Today's topic is Animal vs Man.
As I have written before, I must start the day by reading the newspaper. Today's paper had a couple of good items.
Down here in SW Florida we have a critter that comes to call uninvited, the alligator. You may find them in your front yard, your swimming pool, or I even read about one found in the bathroom. When that happens you 'call the guy' and he comes out and takes the critter away. That was not the case in St. Petersburg. A couple was driving their new card home on Interstate 275 , going at 70 mph this past Sunday morning. An old truck ahead of them 'walloped' the tip of an alligator's tail. Mouth open and frightening teeth bared, the gator rammed into the passenger side of the above mentioned automobile. Now how do you explain that one to your insurance company?
That, however, is not the end of the story. A little later a woman and her son were driving home from a casino. By the time they spotted the 'gator it was too late. The car ran over it and sent it several feet into the air...the 'gator went flying too.
Mr. Gator ended up dying on the side of the road. He was 12' long and estimated to weight 1000 pounds. Authorities surmise he was searching for a mate. Let's hope she is still not out there roaming around the Interstate.
