Well it's Thursday once again. Funny how that day can sneak up on me and make me put my thinking cap on and jot a few words on my blog.

Today I want to talk about mending. I know we talk about mending fences when it comes to relationships but I am talking about the old-fashioned kind of mending. Like socks, shoes, clothes or linens.

I know it is difficult to find a shoemaker to do new soles or 'lifts' for heels. Growing up we always took our shoes to the shoemaker for repair.

Today I was taking a load of towel out of the dryer when I noticed the hem coming loose on a hand towel. The fabric of the towel was good so I put it aside to repair. That's when I started thinking about mending and wondering if it is a lot art.

Now when we have holes in our socks or footies do we just throw them in the trash even though the sock still has some life in it? Do we get rid of a piece of clothing because the seam is ripped?

Does anyone mend anymore. I would love to hear from you if you do.
