Today I would like put down a few lines about writing. I am not talking about writing a book, I want to talk about writing a letter or a note to a friend or family member.

All of us who use a computer and the Internet are quick to dash off a quick note or a funny story to a some one on our mailing list, but what about the person who isn't on the mailing list. The other I received a short note from one of my readers. It made me feel good that she took the time to pen to paper to tell me that she enjoyed reading my book.

Now, that was special, but there have been a few rare instances lately when I have received a piece of personal mail. It has me wondering if that particular segment of communication is falling into the "lost art" category. If so, what a shame.

My only recommendation, should you read this, is to find a piece of paper, grab a pen and drop a line to someone. I will make their day to received something other than a bill or an advertisement.
